Keeping bird cages safe and clean

Learning how to clean bird cages is often fun! One of the pet sitting jobs I did, in which I would get free accommodation, involved cleaning cages and sanitising them.
We would have to use special chemicals that wouldn't affect the birds and these would help kill all the mould and germs. We would have to sanitise all the feeders and water dishes and make sure that none of them would ever get mixed up to prevent cross contamination.
The birds seemed to get a bit ruffled by all the constant movement but in the end it was all about keeping them clean!
